Montgomery County Science Research Competition
Feith Systems & Software Inc. proudly supports the Annual Montgomery County Science Research Competition (MCSRC). This year marks Feith's 8th year of involvement with the MCSRC. This year's event will be held from March 18 - 22, 2010 at the Montgomery County Community College.
Feith Systems designed a Web-based registration solution that automates the entire registration and awards system for the fair. Feith engineers and solutions architects provide the consulting and software for free. In addition to its existing automated registration solution, Feith added a new component to this year. Now, not only can all 500+ participating students and their teachers register online, but all judges can now register themselves online as well.
Registrants provide all their information through Feith's web-based Forms iQ product. The information, including student's name, project description and category is stored in the Feith Document Database. The registrants are then notified of their completed registration through Workflow iQ.
The Science Fair Exhibitor Program Guide is automatically produced from the information captured by FDD. When judges have selected winners, the Feith software produces awards for each age group and category, along with an upload of each winner's registration material that is sent along to the regional Delaware Valley Science Fair.
Don Feith, founder and president of Feith Systems, states, "We are happy to provide our consulting services and software for free to the science fair. As a technology company, we want to be involved in building tomorrow's engineers and scientists. We see it as a great investment in their futures, but also in our own."
About the MCSRC: For over 50 years the science teachers of Montgomery County, PA have seen the value for all students to be involved in student science research. The MCSRC has been conducting this event since 1956, and it is open to all county students in grades 6 - 12. Over 500 students participate in this event yearly. Winners of the MCSRC go on to compete in the Delaware Valley Science Fair competition in April. If selected a winner at this next stage, students win the opportunity to present their projects at the International Science & Engineering Fair held in May.
